L4L Recipients 2014-2022

Thank you to everyone who has supported Lights 4 Lives over the last 10 years!  With the generous support of our community, we have been able to raise approximately $80,000 to support families and organizations in Stratham, NH!

We have been honored to support the following families and organizations over the years.

2022 - Stratham Volunteer Fire Department

We raised awareness of firefighter related cancers and the critical need for all firefighters to have a second set of bunker gear to keep them safe from the harmful effects of carcinogenic materials left on gear after a fire incident until the gear can be properly washed. We were able to raise enough funds to purchase 4 additional sets of gear for the Stratham FD.

2021 - Gabriel Chambers and Family

Gabriel is a loving and happy child who is constantly smiling. He was born with Angelman Syndrome, a rare neuro-genetic disorder that includes motor difficulties, cognitive impairment, seizures and an almost complete loss of functional speech. We raised funds to help Gabriel's family cope with the challenges associated with Angelman syndrome and raised awareness of the disease itself.

2020 - Families in need during the challenges times of the pandemic.

L4L sponsored Operation Support Local Businesses and encouraged the community to shop at stores displaying the L4L sponsor sign in their windows. Funds were raised through donations and the sale of L4L masks and were used to buy gift cards for food, gas and utility bills for struggling families.

The Stratham Fire Department hosted its first L4L holiday parade!

2019 - Liam Sweeney and Team Sweeney
Liam was diagnosed before he was born with Cystic Fibrosis (CF), a progressive disease that substantially impairs normal respiratory and digestive functions. Despite these challenges, Liam remains a sweet, funny and brave boy who inspires us all. Through a lighting contest, t-shirt sales, and an Open House with raffles, we raised community awareness and funds to help Team Sweeney in their efforts to find a cure for CF.

2018 - Gloria Johnson and Family
Gloria's family refers to her as "our little miracle." She is a happy and funny girls who talks to everyone and anyone! Gloria was born with severe brain malformations, and she is missing nearly half of her brain. As a result, she battles cerebral palsy, and a seizure disorder. L4L sold "light up for Gloria" t-shirts, held a lighting contest and hosted an Open House with raffles. Proceeds from these activities were given to the Johnson family to make their home more adaptable to Gloria's physical needs and to purchase outdoor adaptive equipment for her.

2017 - Aidan Carter and Action for Aidan
Aidan Carter is a smart and outgoing boy living with Hunter Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder in which the child’s body doesn’t properly break down certain sugar molecules. When these molecules build up in organs and tissues over time, they can cause damage that affects physical and mental development. L4L partnered with Action for Aidan in raising awareness of this rare disease and funds for the Carter family to help in their quest to find a cure.

2014 and 2015 - Seacoast Family Promise
Originally located in the basement of the Stratham Community Church, Seacoast Family Promise provides temporary housing, food, and shelter to families experiencing homelessness. As Light's 4 Lives first partner, SFP worked with us to raise awareness of their services to the greater community. Funds raised through a holiday home decorating contest were donated to SFP to help them in their mission to empower families with children who are experiencing homelessness to achieve sustainable independence through a community based response.
